Panama City will host the 2011 Baseball World Cup over the next two weeks with the top 16 nations in the world competing for international baseball's biggest prize.
This year's IBAF Baseball World Cup will be the 39th edition of the tournament and it will be played in Panama, with the Central American countries' Rod Carew Stadium the venue for all matches. The hosts will be joined by the top 15 baseballing nations from four continents and it promises to be a thrilling spectacle.
Last year's champions the USA will be looking to defend their title and will be well fancied to do so but Cuba, who have won 25 World Cups, have to be considered the favourites to avenge 2009's defeat in Nettuno. Having been placed in different groups the two will most likely not meet until the final.
There are, however, a number of other interesting teams competing in Panama, with Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei representing Asia. 2010 European champions Italy will most likely lead the European charge, while Australia are Oceania's representative.
The entire 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup will be streamed live by bet365, with the firm showing every match live, starting with Panama v Greece on Saturday October 1.
