The Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open takes centre stage this week with the world’s best badminton players coming together.
The six day event falls under the Badminton World Federation (BWF) banner and will be staged at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
The Hong Kong Open is sponsored by Yonex-Sunrise with a staggering prize fund of US $250,000 up for grabs and will run from November 15 until November 20.
Defending men’s champion Lee Chong Wei will take part in the 2011 tournament hoping to make it a hat-trick of Hong Kong Open wins following his dominant performances in 2009 and 2010.
In the women’s half of the draw 2010 winner Saina Nehwal from India will be heading back to Hong Kong in an attempt to make it back to back victories, while the 2009 winner, Wang Yian from China, will also be looking to get back her title.
