The Cairns Taipans can create some distance between themselves and the chasing pack when they face the Adelaide 36ers on Sunday morning.
The Taipans occupy the fourth play-off spot and having come away from the Adelaide Arena with a convincing 72-67 victory two weeks ago, they'll be more than confident of a repeat performance.
The 36ers have demonstrated an ability to compete with anyone this season, but have suffered from inconsistency and struggled to close out tight games.
Adelaide shot only 33 per cent from the field against Cairns last time, scoring a disappointing 67 points despite only giving up 14 turnovers. The hosts may have to risk more turnovers in this encounter however, if the game is to be played at a preferred faster pace.
Fatigue may be a factor for Cairns as they'll have played two matches in quick succession come Sunday morning.
