Mighty Russians will be going all out to keep their perfect record in the FIBA Europe Championship.
Russia is aiming to preserve its unbeaten record when it takes on Greece in the FIBA Europe Championship second round on Saturday.
The squad secured a ticket to the quarterfinals by crushing Finland 79-60 in its opening Group F match last night. NBA veteran Andrei Kirilenko led the Russian charge while Andrey Vorontsevich and Victor Khryapa showcased their dominance inside the shaded lane.
Greece, meanwhile, should not be underestimated. The two-time European champions beat Slovenia 69-60 last night to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.
The Greeks banked on the heroics of Nikos Zisis, who delivered the killer blows. The sweetshooting guard buried two clutch shots en route to a game-high 19 points.
The victory was a breakthrough for Greece, which blew a 15-point lead.
Zisis will be joined by Kostas Koufos, Ioannis Bourousis and Antonis Fotsis against the Russians.
