Petron will be looking to see off Talk N Text in PBA Governor's Cup Finals on Friday.
One more win for Petron and it wins the PBA Governor's Cup finals. And that's exactly what the Boosters are aiming to achieve tonight when they face Talk N Text in Game 6 of their best-of-seven series.
Petron took the upper hand in the series after winning Wednesday's Game 5 93-80. Best Player of the Conference Arwind Santos had another monster performance of 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Boosters to their second-straight win over the Texters.
"We must grab this opportunity, we're ahead in the series," Petron coach Ato Agustin told GMA News. The victory was sweet for Petron considering that the team is without key players Jay Washington and Rookie of the Year Rabeh Al-Hussaini.
The beleaguered Texters, meanwhile, activated old import Maurice Baker to replace the ineffective Scottie Reynolds. Baker was replaced by Reynolds earlier in the conference but TNT decided to make another import switch for Friday after the latter was held to only five points in Game 5.
"While their import was fantastic, ours sucks," TNT head coach Chot Reyes said after Game 5.
Baker's arrival is also expected to fill the gap left by Jason Castro, who will miss the remainder of the series due to a knee injury. Castro's absence is a big blow to TNT's Grand Slam bid as he was instrumental in their victories in Game 2 and Game 3.
