Spain will be looking to keep on winning when they entertain Serbia in the FIBA Europe Championship second round.
Spain is seeking another win in the FIBA Europe Championship second round when it takes on Serbia on Friday.
The defending champions kicked off the second round with a 77-68 win over Germany to improve to a 2-1 record. The Spaniards banked on a decisive 9-3 run late in the game to finish off the gritty Germans.
Marc Gasol topscored for Spain with 24 points while his older brother Pau contributed 19 points, which all came in the second half. Team captain Juan Carlos Navarro added 14 points.
Serbia, meanwhile, started the second round with a 90-100 defeat to host Lithuania. They trailed only be seven points with less than six minutes remaining but the Lithuanians went on a 9-2 rampage to seal the victory.
Big man Nenad Krstic led the Serbians with 21 points while Milos Teodosic and Dusko Savanovic added 16 apiece. The Serbians fell to a 1-2 record in Group E.
"We didn't have enough reaction and we didn't fight enough," Serbia head coach Dusan Ivkovic said.
"We have to learn from this game and make a serious analysis."
