Uzbekistan was no match for South Korea 57-106. They trailed 11-30 after the first period and failed to recover. Evgeniy Shatrov was the top performer for the Central Asians with 11 points.
Malaysia, meanwhile, fared worse as it was beaten black and blue by two-time defending champion Iran 36-121. The Southeast nation fell behind early on and scored only 13 points in the second half. Guganeswaran Batumalai led the Malaysians with 13 points.
