Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion David Haye is expected to retire from the sport on Thursday when he turns 31.
Haye has always stated that he would not fight beyond the age of 30 and as he turns 31 on Thursday and it is believed he has informed the British Boxing Board of Control that he does not want to renew his licence.
Despite making the claims he would retire at 31 many experts felt he would postpone his decision in order to get in the ring with Vitali Klitschko.
BBBC secretary Robert Smith told BBC Radio Five Live: “According to the email I received, he is no longer wishing to renew his licence."
If he does retire it will go down on record that his final fight was a defeat against Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg where he lost his WBA heavyweight title belt.
