Pacquiao Expected To Put An End To Feud
Chapter three of boxings best-selling rivalry sees the No. 1 pound-for-pound box office attraction Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 Kos) defend his (WBO) welterweight title against nemesis, three-division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KOs).
The two great boxers will finally go toe-to-toe on November 12th for the final-time at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since their last meeting in 2008 Manny Pacquiao 1.118* has conquered the WBC lightweight, IBO light welterweight, WBO welterweight and WBC light middleweight belts.
‘Pacman’ is now a much better fighter than when the pair met last, and he has gained muscle without losing the ‘deadly’ speed his style is based around.
The Philippine has also corrected his defensive flaws and has now adapted an inner strength to absorb the big punches, as was evident in his dominant win against Antonio Margarito.
With the best trainer in boxing – Freddy Roach - at his side, Pacquiao will be informed that Marquez has a tendency to drop his right hand and is left open to upper cuts.
Manny will certainly know what he is up against. The first meeting between the two saw the greats involved in a slobber-knocker, with Pacquiao edging the contest by one-point, while the re-match was judged a tie.
Juan Manuel Marquez 6.510 at
Pinnacle is the current WBA and WBO lightweight champion and a three-weight division champion.
The Mexican feels as though he has Pacquiao’s number having worked out a successful range against the aggressive southpaw in previous encounters.
Marquez will be in excellent shape for the bout, but the 38-year-old will find it hard work at the weight.
Marquez’s edge is his vast experience, counterpunching skills and his trainer Ignacio Beristain.
However, the problem for Marquez is that he may not be able to carry the extra pounds. Against Floyd Mayweather he looked sluggish at 142 pounds and was too slow to compete effectively.
