Both men will feel they can go all the way, particularly now that Phil Taylor is out of the competition, however Adrian Lewis has yet to reach the same level of darts that saw him clinch the 2011 title last January.
Lewis was a comfortable winner against Wayne Jones in the last round and though it was a professional performance, there are concerns that the pressure of defending his title could get to him.
Terry Jenkins on the other hand, has been one the players of the tournament so far. He's been hitting his doubles well, taking control of his matches early and easing to victory thereafter. If he can bring that form into this evening's match, then Lewis could well be in trouble.
This best of nine sets match gets underway at 21:10 (GMT) and James Wade or John Part awaits the winner in Sunday’s semi final.
