The action, which can only be viewed live on the internet, features eight of the leading players in a round-robin format.
The top four after the league phase advance to the semi-finals with the winners meeting in the final before the champion moves into the winners' group later this year.
However, the bottom two in the league will be relegated from the competition. The losing finalist, losing semi-finalists and players fifth and sixth in the league move into group four and are joined by three new players.
After seven groups have been completed, the seven players move into the final group where the eventual winner secures a spot in the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts.
Lewis appearance will mark his return from a two-month suspension, and they join the five players who missed out on glory in Group Two, which was won by Alan Tabern.
They are James Wade, Wayne Mardle, Andy Hamilton, Mervyn King and Kevin Painter, who was Group Two runner-up following a final-leg defeat to Tabern. The new players are Lewis, Dennis Ovens and Colin Osborne.
All games will be shown live from 1pm and are available only via the internet at bet365.
All matches in the league phase are the best of ten legs, and prize money is awarded at £50 per leg won.
The semi-finals will be the best of 11 legs, and the final will be the best of 13 legs, with prize money increasing to £100 per leg won.
Group Four will be played on Tuesday, September 23 from 11am, with Group Five and Group Six taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. Fixtures for these groups will be available following the close of the previous day's play.
