Adrian Lewis scored a 109 average at the Grand Slam of Darts yesterday to record a convincing 5-1 win over Co Stompe and qualify for the second round.
Lewis's poor performances in the group stages in the bearpit atmosphere of Wolverhampton's Civic Hall had been noted here at Live Streaming Sport, however there have been no such problems so far in this year's tournament.
Stompe plays Martin Phillips next to see which of them joins Lewis, after the Welshman overcame the challenge of Vincent van der Voort with a 5-2 victory.
The legendary Phil Taylor has moved a step closer to progressing to the last 16 also.
Taylor dispatched with Steve Beaton 5-3 on Monday evening. The 15-time world champion sealed the deal with an 107 checkout.
In a match that produced an impressive eight 180s Paul Nicholson edged out Wes Newton 5-4, whilst Mark Webster recorded a facile 5-1 win over John Part.
In the Monday's other matches, Mervyn King defeated James Hubbard 5-3, Jan Dekker beat Aaron Monk 5-1, and Magnus Caris scored a 5-1 win over Barrie Bates.
