The duo are likely to represent their country at next year's World Cup, but will go head-to-head in a potential classic at Ally Pally this evening.

Both are in good form and have vast experience of playing on the big stage, which should make for a thrilling encounter.

Webster reached the final of the recent Players Championship Finals and has been tipped by many as an each-way bet for the title.

He has bounced back following a disappointing Premier League campaign and will be looking for a good run in darts' most prestigious event.

Burnett has proved to be one of darts' 2011 success stories. He reached the Semi-Finals of the World Grand Prix and has risen from outside the top 100 to 34th in the world rankings.

1995 Lakeside champion Burnett is a formidable power scorer and is likely to give Webby a tough test tonight.

The bookmakers make world number six Webster the favourite to go through, priced at 2/7, with Burnett the 11/4 underdog with title sponsors Ladbrokes

The match gets underway at 9pm and will be streamed live over the best of five sets from the Alexandra Palace, London.
