Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor shrugged off his disappointment of failing to win Group One by bouncing back to win Group Two on Thursday to move on to the Winners Group.
Taylor, who won all of his Group One matches on Tuesday before crashing out in the semi-finals, won six of his seven league matches throughout the day - his only defeat coming against Simon Whitlock.
Taylor then went on to see off Paul Nicholson in the semi-finals before getting a measure of revenge on Australian Whitlock 6-5 in the Final to march on to the Winners Group.
The Power will now be able to rest up ahead of the start of the World Grand Prix on Tuesday in Dublin as the Championship League Darts takes a breather.
Gropup Three takes place on Thursday and runner-up Whitlock will return to Crondon Park in a bid to go one better, he will be joined by Mervyn King, Andy Hamilton, Wes Newton and Nicholson after they qualified on Wednesday, while Colin Lloyd, Mark Walsh and Wayne Jones will join the group.
