Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis will go into battle this afternoon as they fight it out for a place in the final of the Grand Slam of Darts at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.
Phil Taylor will meet his former pupil Adrian Lewis in the semi-finals of the William Hill Grand Slam of Darts on Sunday afternoon.
Taylor, who has won the Grand Slam of Darts on three occasions, booked his place in the last four thanks to a tough quarter-final win over Paul Nicholson.
Taylor raced into a 3-0 and 8-1 lead over Nicholson before he was pegged back a little, but the Power eventually ahd too much as he stormed into the final with a 16-7 success.
His opponent, Lewis, is the world number two and reigning World Champion, and he showed his class in the quarters with a 16-5 victory over Welshman Mark Webster.
Lewis was in determined mood on Saturday and his 62% ratio at the double proved he was in no mood to end his run and proved just too good for Webster.
As in most of Taylor’s matches, he is the clear favourite and can be backed at 2/9 with Bet365, while Lewis is available at 10/3.
The first to win 16 legs will be crowned the winner and will advance to the final later this evening. Taylor is on offer at 9/1 that he dumps out his friend 16-8, while Lewis can be backed at 25/1 to take home a thriller 16-12.
The Taylor v Lewis semi-final will start at 1430 GMT and it is the best of 31 legs.
