Stoke rivals Taylor and Lewis will go head-to-head in the league on opening night for the second successive year, with The Power plotting revenge for his two defeats to his former protege last season.
The duo, who brought home the World Cup title on Sunday return to individual duties and are expected on stage at around 9.30pm in front of an expectant crowd of over 7,000.
James Wade and Andy Hamilton will raise the curtain on the tournament at 7pm. Debutant Hamilton will be out to prove his run to the World Championship final was no flash in the pan as he takes on former winner of the event - James Wade.
Raymond van Barneveld also has a point to prove when he steps up to face in-form Aussie Simon Whitlock.
Barney crashed out at the first round stage at Ally Pally but showed glimpses of his true form in Hamburg over the weekend.
He will be out to make a good start against Whitlock, who will look to put his World Cup heartbreak behind him as he goes for glory in his third Premier League campaign.
Gary Anderson begins the defence of his title against newcomer Kevin Painter. The Scot took the league by storm last year but has failed to hit the heights since lifting the title at Wembley last May.
Painter has a new-found confidence after winning his first PDC major for two decades at the Players Championship in December. He is a gritty character when up on the oche and is likely to push The Flying Scotsman all the way on Thursday evening.
Action gets underway at 7pm, with matches played over the best of 14 legs and streamed live from the Manchester Arena.
