Raymond van Barneveld will be looking to boost his chances of qualifying for the Finals Day when he takes on world champion Adrian Lewis in the Premier League Darts in Cardiff on Thursday.
After his World Championship disappointment, Barney has dug deep and has found a second wind, proving the critics wrong by occupying second spot at the half way stage of the campaign.
The popular Dutchman produced a terrific 107 average in his 8-5 win over Gary Anderson last week and followed it up with good runs at the weekend in the UK Open qualifying events in Barnsley.
Lewis returns to the stage having already faced Andy Hamilton in the opening match and will be eyeing a possible double swoop to revive his chances and pull away from the wrong end of the table.
He finally got his first win of the season last week against Kevin Painter and could be full of confidence going into the game.
Both players are capable of heavy scoring and clinical finishing percentages, which should make for a highly entertaining encounter.
They have met 26 times in total, with Barney claiming 17 wins to Jackpot's eight. The only draw between the duo came earlier this season in week two of the event.
The bookmakers cannot pick a winner and price both players at 5/4 for victory. The draw is a 4/1 chance with Bet365.
The match gets underway at 9.30pm on Thursday and will be streamed live over the best of 14 legs from the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff.
