The evening session opens at 1910 GMT when 2010 finalist Simon Whitlock meets Holland's Michael van Gerwen.
Aussie Whitlock, who is still recovering from a broken ankle, has been in fine form over the past couple of weeks and will fancy his chances against his talented opponent.
The Wizard has already defeated Dennis Smith and Steve Beaton, while Dutchman Van Gerwen has got the better of Colin Osbourne and Mervyn King.
Whitlock is the clear favourite to advance to the quarter-finals and can be backed at 1/3 odds on with Ladbrokes, while Van Gerwen is available at 12/5.
The scoreline market is open for this Ally Pally thriller with the Australian on offer at 3/1 to win the contest 4-1, while the Dutchman can be backed at 13/2 for a 4-3 triumph.
