The 2012 Word Darts Championship has reached the semi-final stage, with Andy Hamilton playing Simon Whitlock, while Adrian Lewis plays James Wade
This has been arguably the most exciting World Darts Championship ever to have taken place. James Wade’s 5-4 win over John Part was the highlight of the quarter finals and the Machine is two steps away from his first ever world crown.
However, opponents don’t get much tougher than Adrian Lewis who stands in Wade’s way of reaching the final. The crowd turned on Jackpot during his quarter final victory over Terry Jenkins, although the Stoke player got the job done and clearly has the game to clinch another title.
The match between Wade and Lewis is the second semi-final taking place on Sunday, with Andy Hamilton and Simon Whitlock first up on the oche at 19:40 GMT.
Both players were very strong in their respective quarter final matches against Kim Huybrechts and Gary Anderson respectively. The Hammer averaged over 100 during his 5-2 success, while the Wizard was simply too gutsy for the erratic Anderson.
Both matches are best of 11 sets, with the bookmakers anticipating a Lewis v Whitlock final, although would it really be a surprise to see Wade and Hamilton lining up on 2 January?
