The 2012 PDC World Darts Championships are bubbling along nicely as we head into the new year. There have been some shocks, such as the exits of Raymond Van Barneveld, Mark Webster and Wes Newton already knocked out of the competition.
On Wednesday the line-up for the last 16 will be complete with number two seed Gary Anderson the star attraction of the players still in the second round. The Flying Scotsman was involved in arguably the most exciting first round match, when beating Jyhan Artut in sudden death and he will need to be better on his doubles if he is to avoid embarrassment against unseeded South African Devon Petersen.
Simon Whitlock, who stormed to victory over Dennis Smith in round one, will be looking to put down his challenge to the other title contenders when he takes on Steve Beaton, while Colin Lloyd and Scott Rand are both sure to be well supported in all English clash in the Ally Pally.
The evening is rounded off by the first of this year's last 16 clashes and it is sure to bring the house down. Adrian 'Jackpot' Lewis is a crowd favourite and the second seed is many people's idea of the winner of the 2012 World Championships. He will have to be on top form to beat 15th seed Wayne Jones, who has only lost one leg so far in London.
