France will move closer to Euro 2012 Qualification on Tuesday with a win over Romania in Group D.
France produced yet another strong, composed performance when beating Albania 2-1 on Friday and Laurent Blanc's side are finally beginning to become the kind of team who can be depended upon to play to their unquestionable ability on a regular basis.
Stars such as Karim Benzema, Samir Nasri and Franck Ribery have begun to reproduce their club form for Les Bleus and they are closing in on qualification for Euro 2012.
A win over Romania on Tuesday, at odds of 4/5, with bet365, will keep France at least three points clear at the top of Group D with two home matches remaining.
They will be confident of rewarding their backers, especially considering the problems currently facing the hosts.
Romania beat Luxembourg 2-0 on Friday but it was far from a vintage performance from Victor Piturca's side, who needed two goals from Gabriel Torje to beat the minnows.
The team is struggling badly at the moment due to a whole host of key absentees and massive discord within the national setup, which is translating as poor performances. Adrian Mutu and Gabriel Tamas have both been banned for unprofessional behaviour while Christian Chivu and Mirel Radoi have both retired from international football.
The situation is very similar to that which affected France so badly at the 2010 World Cup. The French were forced to sack manager Raymond Domenech and his replacement, Blanc, ushered in a whole new squad with a new mentality.
It has worked well and Romania would do well to look to Tuesday's opponents for inspiration.
