Sporting Kansas City out to slay Colorado Rapids in MLS
A surging team meets a struggling club in the Major League Soccer on Thursday as Sporting Kansas City takes on the Colorado Rapids.
Sporting is unbeaten in eight league matches and 10 games in all competitions. They are coming off a 2-1 victory over the Portland Timbers.
"I think it's just confidence," Sporting defender Matt Besler told foxnews.com
"During the 10-game stretch that we had on the road (to start the season), we thought we were playing well but things just weren't going our way."
The Rapids, in contrast, have won only once in their last 10 matches. The team's woes continued last Sunday when they were held to a goalless draw by Houston.
"I'm still disappointed that we're not putting the goals up," Colorado defender Drew Moor said.
"We definitely have the firepower and the individuals to do that, and that'll come."
