FC Midtjylland and Larvik start campaign in EHF Women's Champions League Main Round
FC Midtjylland and Larvik take on each other in the EHF Women's Champions League Main Round today.
Midtjylland finished second in Group A with eight points. They are coming off a 31-20 victory over Slagelse FH in the Danish League. It was a breakthrough win for Midtjylland, which lost to FIF København (22-26) and Randers HK (26-31) prior to facing Slagelse.
Larvik, meanwhile, topped Group B with eight points. The Norwegian club has won its last 10 matches in all competitions. In their last domestic league match, they defeated Njard IL Handball 23-29.
Larvik coach Ole Gjekstad is looking forward to their match against FCM.
"We still have some little things to improve, and we are all fully aware of the seriousness of the EHF Champions League game that is approaching us this coming weekend," he told eurohandball.com.
Out to lead the defending champions is Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth.
