Beleaguered Barcelona will try to keep its semi-final hopes alive when it welcomes AG København in the second leg of their quarterfinal duel in the EHF Champions League on Saturday night.
The defending champions were upset by København 23-29 in last week's first leg in Denmark. Mikkel Hansen fired eight goals to lead the Danish squad to victory. Gudjon Sigurdsson added four goals while five others chipped in three goals each.
The bad news for København is that defensive specialist Joachim Boldsen is out for the season after sustaining a tendon injury in the first leg.
BM Atletico de Madrid is out to bounce back when it takes on RK Cimos Koper in the second leg of their quarterfinal duel in the EHF Champions League on Saturday.
Cimos Koper beat Atletico 26-23 in last week's first leg to draw closer to sealing a semifinal berth. Matjaz Brumen, Milorad Krivokapic and Sebastian Skube scored five goals each to lead the Slovenian team to victory.
Despite their early setback, Atletico's Nicolaj Markussen is confident that they can come back and book a ticket to Cologne.
"I am full of confidence and belief in my team, as I know what we are able to do," the Danish international told ehfcl.com.
"We can raise our level of performing and we can reach one of our major goals, to qualify for the Final Four. So I hope that we will beat Koper by more than three goals."
