The 28th Breeders' Cup, Thoroughbred racing's most prestigious global event – currently consisting of 14 races held over two days with purses totaling $25.5 million – will be run on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5, 2011, and will be televised live to a worldwide audience of more than 130 countries.  

The world famous meeting is racing’s most exciting extravaganza and the Breeders' Cup World Championships has become recognized as the ultimate test of horse and jockey.  The world’s leading superstars head to the event and battle it out in a sensational climax to the year long championship and with the meeting encompassing almost every division of the sport; the Breeders’ Cup really does present racing fans with the grandest spectacle imaginable.

The Breeders’ Cup has developed a reputation for showcasing racing at the world’s highest level of competition and it was no different in 2010 when Zenyatta was inches away from winning her second Classic in a breathtaking battle with Blame in the $5million contest.  Meanwhile, Freddie Head’s wondermare Goldikova powered to an unbelievable third consecutive success in the Breeders’ Cup Mile after surging past her rivals with an incredible turn of foot. Zenyatta won’t be in action at this year’s meeting, but Goldikova could be and she will be one of many superstars who descend on Churchill Downs to compete at the jewel in the international racing crown, the 2011 Breeders’ Cup.
