Maguire has cued beautifully throughout the match so far with a number to high breaks and will be looking to seal the inevitable victory in a short time as he continues his quest for a maiden world crown.
Hendry has lit up the tournament from day one, he made a superb 147 break in his victory over Stuart Bingham and went on to knock out defending champion John Higgins, but his run appears to be coming to a sad end this year.
The main attraction for the Crucible audience in the afternoon and evening features two of the game's most naturally gifted attacking players resume their fascinating battle as three-time champion Ronnie O'Sullivan faces 2012 winner Neil Robertson.
The opening session featured an array of high breaks with the majority of frames being won in a single visit and there is very little between the two on paper and current form to suggest a clear winner.
The first six frames were traded on Tuesday, but left-hander Robertson kicked on and won two in a row before to forge a 5-3 lead.
