The Qatar Open is the third World Tour event of the year and although China's Ma Long and Zhang Jike withdrew from the tournametn Wang Hao, Ma Lin and defending champion Xu Xin are all present.
In the women's event, the Chinese have fielded their second tier players, so the likes of Feng Tianwei, Kasumi Ishikawa and Ai Fukuhara are expected to dominate.
