Whilst neither player took part in the main draw of the competition, both of them will be looking to make the most of some last minute court time ahead of the first slam of the season.

The focus here is largely on Murray, who after two runner-up finishes in Melbourne is aiming to finally win his first slam this time around. New coach Ivan Lendl has referred to his partnership with Murray as being like ‘Groundhog Day’.

“I am going to be there to support Andy and help him achieve his goals,” said Lendl recently. “How we get there in terms of time, events, travel, etc., is something that we will work through together.”

With an Open Era legend in his support team, it will be fascinating to see if Murray can take his game to the next level. That said, the competition is unforgiving, with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer all vying for slam titles.
