Andy Murray will be looking to move a step closer to retaining his ATP Shanghai Masters title when he takes on Stanislas Wawrinka.
Murray has played a lot of matches in recent weeks on the way to picking up titles in Bangkok and Tokyo and the British player will have been grateful for the extra day's rest as his scheduled second round opponent Dmitry Tursunov withdrew before they could take to court with a wrist injury.
Murray is in the form of his life having enjoyed one of the most consistent spells of his career. He always performs well in Asia and he's most people's favourite to go all the way again this week.
However he will be under no illusions about how tough a prospect Wawrinka is in the last sixteen. The Swiss put Murray out of the 2010 US Open and his confidence will be high right now after he helped his country to a dramatic Davis Cup victory over Australia last month, putting them back in the World Group.
He's battled through a couple of tough three setters so far, looking a little rusty against Juan Monaco and then toughing things out against the in-form Donald Young who he eventually saw off 6-7(5), 7-6(2), 6-2.
