Spain will look to clinch the Davis Cup 2011 title on the third day of their final against Argentina at Seville.
Spain raced off to a 2-0 lead on the first day through Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer. Nadal wasted no time in defeating Juan Monaco while Ferrer needed five sets before he overcame Juan Martin del Potro.
Argentina came back on the second day when they won the doubles encounter. The pair of David Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank defeated Spain’s Fernando Lopez and Feliciano Verdasco in straight sets to take the tie into the third day.
Nadal will play del Potro in the opening reverse singles match on Sunday. Then in the second match, Ferrer will play Monaco. Spain need to win one of these matches to seal their fifth Davis Cup title while Argentina require a victory in both rubbers to clinch their first ever Davis Cup win.
