Maria Sharapova leads the pack of players in the quarter-final of Open GDF Suez event at Paris on February 10.
Sharapova will hope to shrug off her Australian Open finals loss to Petra Kvitova as she takes on Angelique Kerber in the quarter-finals.
Marion Bartoli, who is ranked seventh in the world, will go in seeded second and should be one to challenge Sharapova with her hard hitting game. Playing at home will give her an added incentive to go all the way. She plays Petra Martic in the second round for a place in the quarter-final.
Jelena Jankovic, seeded fourth withdrew from the tournament, as did German Sabine Lisicki, but Julia Goerges has gotten herself a place in the quarter-final where she takes on Klara Zakopalova.
