Fourth seeded Marina Erakovic of New Zealand takes on world number 79 Michaella Krajicek in her quarter-final at the Memphis International 2012.
The Kiwi is the only seeded player remaining in the tournament after the ouster of four seeds in the second round. Pauline Parmentier, Lucie Hradecká, Johanna Larsson and Ksenia Pervak were all beaten in the previous round.
Erakovic began her campaign at Memphis with a first set loss to Sloane Stevens before recovering quickly to win 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. Then she overcame Evgeniya Rodina in her second round match in straight sets to enter the quarter-finals.
Krajicek has won both her matches in straight sets so far. In the first round she defeated sixth seeded Brit Elena Baltacha before overcoming Olga Govortsova of Belarus in the second round of the competition.
The two have met each other twice before this quarter-final and the world number 54 Erakovic has won both matches. The matches were both played in 2008, including one at the Wimbledon in the first round.
Erakovic should be favourite to make it to the semi-finals but could be stretched to the distance.
The Erakovic v Krajicek quarter-final at the WTA Memphis 2012 will be played on February 23.
