Two time Miami Masters champion Roger Federer will be looking to claim a record equalling 17th Masters Series title when the Sony Ericsson Open gets underway.

Federer last won this title back in 2006 and he will be looking to bounce back from a shock third round defeat in Indian Wells.
Andy Murray will be among his main challengers. Murray won the Sony Ericsson Open last year and is at his best on the medium paced hard courts although he will need to up his game after a limp defeat in the Indian Wells quarter-finals.
Rafael Nadal will be searching for a first Miami title. The Spaniard has twice been a runner-up, losing an epic five setter to Federer back in 2005 before getting crushed by an inspired Nikolay Davydenko two years ago.
Novak Djokovic ran out of steam in Indian Wells. But after a week and a half’s rest will the 2007 Miami champion have more of a shot. He came close last year, losing to Murray in the final.
And then there’s Indian Wells Ivan Ljubicic who served brilliantly all week on the way to his first Masters Series title. The Croatian is a former runner-up in Miami and likely to be just as much of a threat.
2004 champion Andy Roddick and the in-form Robin Soderling will also be in the mix.
