Russia's Teymuraz Gabashvili takes on Javier Marti of Spain in the quarter-finals of the Kazan Kremlin Cup Challenger 2012. The match will be played on February 3.
Gabashvili, seeded sixth in the competition, is in raging form all week. He won both his matches in straight sets, as he crushed Moldovan Radu Albot 6-1, 6-2, before defeating Dusan Lojda in the second round 6-2, 6-3.
Marti comes into the match with a tough, three-set win over the top-seeded Tunisian Malek Jaziri in the previous round. Marti won the match 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. In his first round, Marti had secured an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory over Aydin Akhmetshin.
The two players have played each other only once before this match and it was on the grass court of Hertogenbosch. Marti had rallied well in the first set before going down to Gabashvili 6-7, 3-6.
The Teymuraz Gabashvili v Javier Marti Kazan Kremlin Cup Challenger 2012 quarter-final will be played on February 3. It will begin at 12 noon local time.
