Bangladesh play Pakistan in the one-off T20I that will kick-start the tour at Dhaka on November 29.
Pakistan go into the series on a high of having defeated Sri Lanka in all three formats of the game. They won the Tests 1-0, before pummelling Sri Lanka by defeating them in five of the six limited overs games that followed.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, will have to make do with the confidence earned from their solitary win against West Indies in the third ODI. It was a convincing win alright, after West Indies were bowled out for 61, but such acts are a rarity in Bangladesh cricket and they will need to be at their best to trouble the visitors.
Pakistan depend on their captain Misbah-ul-Haq to guide the ship. Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi will provide all-round support while Abdul Razzaq, if fit, should come back into the side in place of Sohail Tanvir.
Bangladesh’s best chance of giving Pakistan a scare will be if both Shakib-al-hasan and Tamim Iqbal can get the best out of themselves. Iqbal’s hard-hitting at the top of the innings and Shakib’s late-order hitting and suffocating left-arm spin should give the home side some hope.
Bangladesh should not provide too much resistance if Pakistan can reproduce the form they showed against Sri Lanka.
The Bangladesh-Pakistan T20 starts at 1700 hours local time (1100 hours GMT)
