South Africa host Australia in their opening Twenty20 encounter in Cape Town with the bookmakers unable to split the two.
Australia have travelled to South Africa for a full blown tour which will include two T20s, three One Day Internationals and Two Test Matches.
The opening T20 clash will take place on Thursday in Cape Town with
Bet365 finding it difficult to split the two countries and they can both be backed at 10/11 to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
South Africa have been handed a major injury blow with wicketkeeper Mark Boucher suffering with a hamstring injury, while Albie Morkel has been replaced in the squad by allrounder Ryan McLaren after he picked up an abdominal muscle injury.
Australia will be without fast bowler Brett Lee for the whole tour after the paceman went down with appendicitis and is expected to be out for up to eight weeks.
Both teams, as expected in Twenty20 cricket, will be looking to score runs at a very fast rate and although centuries do happen in this format it is very rare and because of that
Victor Chandler are offering odds of 6/1 that a score of 100 or more from any batsman will take place.
A good start is very important and both teams have a very strong opening line-up and the Proteas are 10/11 to score the highest opening partnership with Blue Square, while Australia are available at 5/6 with
BetFred.
Australia’s main strike weapon with the bat will be opener Shane Watson and on his day he is capable of carrying the bat with a fantastic knock, he is 3/1 with
Boylesports to be the leading scorer for Australia, while David Hussey will also be in the hunt at 11/2 if wickets start to tumble.
South Africa are no slouches with the bat either and with Hashim Alma (3/1 Bet365) and Jean-Paul Duminy (5/1) at the crease then anything can happen.
Bet365 have both countries at 10/11 to win the Twenty20 series.
