Trentino Diatec Trento have been crowned FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship winners after seeing off KS Jastrzebski Wegiel in Qatar.
Trentino Diatec Trento recovered from a first set loss in winning the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship with a 29-31, 25-16, 25-11, 25-16 victory over KS Jastrzebski Wegiel on Friday evening in Doha, Qatar.
Trentino Diatec have now won three consecutive FIVB Men’s Club World Championships, including 15 straight matches in the event since 2009.
All three championships have been won in Doha. Six Trentino Diatec players – Matey Kaziyski, Osmany Juantorena, Tsvetan Sokolov, Lukasz Sygadio, Andrea Bari and Raphael Vieira de Olivieira – have been a part of all three titles, while Jan Stokr, Massimo Colaci and Dore Delle Lunge were part of last year’s championship as well.
Zenit Kazan finished the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship with the bronze medal after defeating Sesi Sao Paulo 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 on Friday afternoon in Doha, Qatar.
