Brazil, Serbia and Cuba were among the winners on the opening day of Round Four of the FIVB Volleyball World Cup in Japan.
There were six matches held on Friday as Round Four got under way with 12 teams still fighting it out for the title.
The opening match of the day in Group A saw Brazil take the spoils against Iran with a low scoring 75-54 victory, while other Group A results saw Italy claim a narrow 106-102 triumph over Poland, while host nation Japan were outclassed by a rampant Russia.
In Group B Serbia came out on top 97-93 against Egypt, while Cuba edged ahead of China with a well earned 109-107 win and USA got the better of Argentina with a 112-97 success.
There are another six matches being held on Saturday, December 3 with USA and Cuba putting their 100% record on the line when they meet.
Other key matches taking place on Saturday include, Iran versus Russia, hosts Japan against Italy and Brazil going up against Poland.
