Brazil lived up to their status as FIVB World Cup favourites when they beat Russia in straight sets on Thursday, and the South American kingpins will be confident of increasing their points haul against China on Friday morning.
Russia had looked almost invincible in their opening games, coasting to three early wins, but they were brought crashing back to earth by a Murilo Endres (12 points) inspired Brazil.
The Brazilians take on China at 06:00 (GMT) and shouldn't be troubled too much by a side which has yet to take a set in the tournament.
Poland are second in the standings and like Brazil, have lost just one of their four games. The Poles just fell short in a five set thriller against surprise package Iran in their last match and will look to bounce back with victory over Japan in their 09:15 game.
Perhaps the most enticing match-up of the day though is USA v Italy at 09:15. USA are four points off the pace in sixth and two behind the Azzuri, and they simply can't afford to lose further ground on the top teams with three Olympic qualifying places up for grabs at the top of the table.
Of the remaining games, it may be worth keeping an eye on the Iranians who are in fine form winning three of their four matches. The 2011 Asian champions take on Argentina in the first live stream of the day at 02:00.
Also at 02:00 is the game between Russia and Egypt, while Cuba and Serbia are in action at 06:00.
