Live streaming sports provide action from the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour on Sunday. The men’s gold medal match at the FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH World Tour Brazil Open will take place today and it will be an All-American affair.
The eagerly awaiting Brazil Open Final will feature USA duo Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers go up against fellow countrymen Matt Fuerbringer and Nick Lucena in the baking heat to see who claims the prize money and coveted title.
This will be the fourth time in 34 international events held in Brazil and first since 1991 that there will be an all-USA gold medal match.
Dalhausser and Rogers came from behind on Saturday to disappoint a 6,000 strong home crowd as they defeated the Brazilian pair of Ricardo Santos and Pedro Cunha - 24-26 21-13 15-10 in less than an hour.
In the second semi-final Fuerbringer and Lucena got the better of Spain’s Adrian Gavira and Pablo Herrera by taking the game 13-21 21-18 15-13 in 56 minutes.
Dalhausser and Rogers have now won six straight matches and have a 7-1 record here heading into Sunday’s final, while Fuerbringer and Lucena lost in the third round on Friday and have a 6-1 record in this tournament.
On the FIVB SWATCH World Tour, Dalhausser and Rogers have a 5-1 record against Fuerbringer and Lucena although Fuerbringer and Lucena won their last meeting on August 4 in 2011 in two sets in pool play in Austria at the Klagenfurt grand slam.
The gold medal teams in each gender in the Brazil Open will each split $30,000, the silver $21,000, the bronze $15,000 and fourth place $11,200.
