The Istanbul derby continues in the CEV Women's Champions League Playoffs 12 today as Vakifbank Gunes hosts Eczacibasi.
Defending champion Vakifbank won the first leg 25-22 25-21 20-25 25-20 at the Burhan Felek Spor Salonu.
"I am very happy because the team displayed some good volleyball, especially in blocking. Our spirit was good as well but we are just in the middle of nowhere. We do not celebrate that much yet because we still have to win also next week," said Vakifbank coach Giovanni Guidetti after their win over Eczacibasi last week.
Eczacibasi coach Lorenzo Micelli, meanwhile, is confident that his team can bounce back.
"With the golden set rule, we still have our chances to make it to the 1/4 finals by taking the next game. We will be working hard up to there to get the right momentum," he said.
