The J.P Morgan Squash Tournament of Champions continues on Saturday with eight more first round matches taking place.
The Tournament of Champions is a prestigious competition with 24 of the world’s best 25 players taking part in the 32 man player draw with the remaining eight places taken up by qualifiers.
The Tournament of Champions continues to live up to its name as all but one of its winners have been ranked number one in the world.
The 2012 draw features four returning title holders - defending champion and 2008 winner Ramy Ashour of Egypt, England’s James Willstrop (2010), Frenchman Gregory Gaultier (2009) and Egypt’s Amr Shabana (2006,2007).
The opening tie of the day gets underway at 1700 GMT with England’s Adrian Grant going up against Scottish qualifier Alan Cryne, while Australian Cameron Pilley is also in action against Olli Tuominen from Finland.
Three-time finalist Nick Matthew gets his campaign off the ground today at 1745 when he takes on Wael El Hindi from Egypt.
Third seed Gregory Gaultier from France faces Spaniard Borja Golan in the first round, while number four seed Karim Darwish faces Englishman Daryl Selby with the Egyptian expected to coast through at a canter.
