The Axiata Cup is a new regional badminton event featuring South-East Asia's top sides and boasting $1million in prize money.
Men’s teams from the following nations Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines are set to take in this Badminton World Federation (BWF) sanctioned tournament. Each team consists of six players with teams also able to field up to two foreign players each.
The event will be held at two venues in Malaysia and Indonesia for the group match qualifiers with four teams in each group. A three-match format including 2 singles and 1 doubles match per tie will be used. Following the Group Stage, the two top teams then play in two legged semi-finals, with the finals adopting a similar format.
The preliminary Round Robin group matches will be played over 3 days (March 23-25th)
