Spain and France will contest the FIBA Europe Championship Final on Sunday in Lithuania.
In the end, the two teams with the most NBA players will meet in the final of the FIBA Europe Championship in Lithuania on Sunday.
Spain, led by NBA stars Pau and Marc Gasol, Rudy Fernandez and Juan Carlos Navarro, reached the gold-medal game for the second-straight time by defeating Macedonia 92-80 in the semifinal.
Navarro fired 19 of his tournament-high 36 points to lead the defending champions to victory and guarantee themselves a spot in next year's London Olympics. Pau Gasol was also impressive for the Spaniards, finishing with 22 points and 17 rebounds.
The Spaniards were down by a point at halftime before finally getting their rhythm in the second half to end Macedonia's Cinderella run in the tournament.
France, meanwhile, beat Russia 79-71 in the other semifinal. Nicolas Batum outshined Tony Parker in this particular game as the NBA veteran finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
The French used an 8-0 run in the third period to break loose from a 45-45 deadlock and pull away for good. Andrei Kirilenko tried to rally back his team but could only come close to within four points. The defeat was painful for Russia as it was its first ever loss in the tournament.
This is only France's second ever appearance in the Eurobasket final. The last time the country reached this far was way back in 1949 when they finished second to Egypt in a tournament that used a round-robin format.
