The capital side were beaten at home for the first time this season last weekend and fell three points further behind their hosts on Sunday as a result. It was the second week in succession that Jaime Pacheco's saw their title rivals increase their advantage in the standings, after also drawing with Qingdao the week before.
Beijing now trail Evergrande by seven points, but can reduce that to four with victory at the Tianhe Stadium. Guoan head south to Guangzhou with the season reaching its halfway point and Evergrande in formidable form of late however.
The hosts have recorded back-to-back wins in the CSL following a disappointing 1-1 draw away to Shandong Luneng and have netted eight goals in the process.
Their 5-1 win over Jiangsu and a 3-0 triumph over Liaoning should be cause for concern for Pacheco whose troops have bagged just one goal in their last three outings.
