Nicolas Anelka's Shanghai Shenhua travel north to take on Liaoning Whowin in the Chinese Super League on Sunday morning.
Liaoning come into the game on the back of a confidence boosting 2-1 win over third-placed Guangzhou R&F, a result that leaves them three places above their visitors Shanghai.
Shenhua continued their lacklustre start to the season with a 0-0 draw at home to Shandong last time out and though they looked assured at the back, comfortably containing Luneng's attacking unit, they once again lacked any cutting edge up front themselves.
Despite the presence of a top class striker like Anelka in their line up, Shanghai's inability to score is becoming a cause of major concern for their faithful. Anelka et al have managed to find the back of the net on just six occasions in their opening eight fixtures.
There is some cause for optimism however, with such a solid defence it's only a matter of time before their forwards click and start banging in the goals, which will inevitably propel the big spenders up the CSL table.
For Anelka fans, let's hope Sunday morning is when this happens.
