Osasuna will continue their push for a top-six finish in La Liga when they host Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Osasuna are currently ninth in the Spanish top flight, but a record of 11 wins, 15 draws and 10 losses means they are just two points off the final Europa League qualifying spot with two games to play. Overhauling the likes of Athletic Bilbao, Mallorca and Atletico Madrid may be too much of an ask for them, but Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men will not be giving up until it is mathematically impossible.
Osasuna come into this match in disappointing form, having sandwiched draws against Malaga and Villarreal with defeats to Real Betis and Valencia, but they are 4/6 favourites to bounce back with a win here.
Real Sociedad have successfully retained their top-flight status for another season thanks to a seven-game unbeaten run that consists of two wins and five draws, and they are playing for little more than pride over the final two weekends of the 2011/12 campaign.
They would love to take this unbeaten streak into pre-season and they are 10/3 to extend it with a victory here, while yet another draw for Philippe Montanier’s side is 11/4.
