Toronto FC entertain the LA Galaxy at the Rogers Centre on Thursday morning in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarter-final.
Toronto have home advantage for the first-leg and will be hoping the crowd at the Rogers Centre in Canada will spur them on to victory.
Toronto finished runners up to the Pumas in Group C of their qualifying pool as they managed to secure three wins, one draw and two defeats from their six encounters.
This is Toronto’s first appearance in the quarter-finals and they will be looking for leading goal scorer Joao Plata (4) to fire them to glory against the Galaxy.
LA Galaxy, who will have David Beckham in their ranks, topped Group A of the qualifying stage by picking up four victories and two defeats.
This is also Galaxy’s first quarter-final appearance from two attempts and they hope Junínho (2 goals) will add to his goal scoring tally, while Chad Barrett, Adam Cristman and Landon Donovan are dangerous in front of goal.
