The Swedes showed tremendous fighting spirit in their narrow one-goal defeats to Denmark and Croatia in the group stages.

They still managed to qualify after finishing third with three wins from five and the 2010 European Championship silver medallists will surely put it up to the French today.

Les Bleus have a strong track record at this event however, finishing runners up in 2009 in China.

They boast a solid defence and finished second in Group C behind hosts Brazil. And their goal difference in the group (+62) bodes well for today’s encounter.
