Ding Junhui will be looking for a measure of revenge when he faces Neil Robertson in the Premier League Snooker this week.
The Premier League Snooker is a very popular event which features 10 of the world’s best snooker plays playing over a number of week’s and Thursday‘s installment comes from the Guildhall in Southampton with Ding, Robertson, Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan all in action.
Each player will play on four of the ten nights in what will be a mini-tournament consisting of two semis and a final.
Players will pick up points for frames won and at the conclusion of the league section, the top four will advance to the play-offs which take place at Potters Leisure Resort over the 26th and 27th November.
Ding and Robertson will clash for the second time in this year’s tournament with Robertson getting the upper hand in their first meeting in event three.
This will be Robertson’s fourth event and he has had mixed reviews so far, he lost his first clash in week one against Matthew Stevens before winning event three by defeating John Higgins and then Ding in the final, before losing in the final of event seven to Trump after seeing off Shaun Murphy in the semis.
Ding, who has also played in three tournaments, will be looking to make it successive tournament wins after taking out both Jimmy White and Ali Carter in event six. His other tournament showings have seen him lose in the final of event three to Robertson after beating Murphy, before suffering a semi-final loss against Carter in event four.
Robertson can be backed at 5/6 with Bet365 to win this semi-final encounter, while Ding is on offer at even money with the same firm in what should be a very tense affair.
With these matches the first to win three frames, Robertson can be backed at 5/1 with BetFred
to win the match 3-0, while Ding is 4/1 with Victor Chandler
to take the tie 3-1.
O’Sullivan is the overall favourite to win Group Eight with Bet365 and can be backed at 7/4, with Trump, Robertson and Ding all level on 3/1.
